Thoughts on New York

New York City... is interesting.
Its really a lot of fun, there is so much available to do. Its also crazy, noisy, harsh, and congested.
There are so many aspects to consider.
My current opinion is that I don't know if I would wish to live there, but it sure is a heck of a lot of fun to visit, especially when you can stay for a couple weeks.
During my three weeks I think I saw a lot... but there definitely is a heck of a lot that I didn't get a chance to see as well. Although I hit all of the points on my rough checklist (Broadway, Times Square, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Met, MoMA, 9/11 Memorial..) and many that I hadn't thought of (Botanical Gardens, China Town, Wall St, etcetera..).
Ruth is a great host. She lives in a great location about thirty miles from the city, near the train, in a safe, quiet neighborhood. I got to meet a lot of her friends, who were great fun to be around, and tolerated having an 18 year old tagging along with them.
Its gone by in such a blur. It seems like a couple days ago I got off a bus from Boston.. but I've been in NY for almost 3 weeks. There is so much to see and do.
I feel like I got to see a lot while I was here, and I think it'll be nice to come visit again sometime. There will always be new things to do in NY. Its been an exciting visit.
Ruth and I are off to Atlanta, Georgia for a week to stay with Meagan (my second cousin, Ruth's niece) and her husband, Alan, and their baby, Nathaniel. He's pretty cute.
Today, we drove a little under 12 hours (including stops) to get to Ashville, NC for the night. In the morning we're going to see the Biltmore Estate before finishing the trip. More on that later.
