Barnes Collection

Yesterday, Ruth and I visited the Franklin Institute and the Barnes Collection.
We awoke in the morning and had breakfast at the hotel, you know, where they have muffins and fruit and make your own waffles. I, of course, made a waffle. (:
After breakfast we walked down to the science museum, the Franklin Institute. When we got to the museum, we found out that because she is a teacher, Ruth got in free. So we spent most of the time in the museum checking out the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit. Dead Sea Scrolls are ancient scroll found in caves by the Dead Sea, written in ancient hebrew. They had a lot of fragments of scroll, as well as the pottery that held them shown in the exhibit. We also saw a show in the planetarium, since it was free with admission. The Boston planetarium was better, but the sea scrolls were pretty interesting.
After the Franklin Institute, we went to see the Barnes Collection. Its a very interesting museum. This man, Barnes, collected art and put it on display. So in the museum the art wasn't set up like normal, it was displayed more like a person (who was very rich and could buy Monet, Picasso, Renoir, and Matisse) would in their home.
