The Empire State Building

Yesterday, I went to the top of the Empire State Building.
Its a nice walk down 5th Ave from Grand Central, not too long but a nice walk.
Once you get to the Empire State Building, its a maze of lines. The lines are pretty fast moving, but lines none the less. The worst lines are waiting for the elevator. Once you buy your ticket to ride from the first floor to the 80th floor, and then another elevator from the 80th floor to the 86th floor observation deck. Why you have to ride in two separate elevators I don't know. I had just gotten in the line for the elevator from the 80th to the 86th floor, when it was announced that it was an option to walk up the six flights of stairs instead of waiting in line for half an hour. I chose to walk. Who wants to stand in line for half an hour when you're in good enough shape to take the stairs!?
The view from the Observation Deck is great. The cars on the street look like ants, and the view of the skyline is nice.

The downside of the Empire State Building is that it costs 25 dollars to get to the Observation Deck. It's one of those, gotta do it once to say you have but never go back because it's not worth the money, type of things.
A note to any of my future significant others who want to meet at the top of the Empire State Building on Valentine's Day, e.g. Sleepless in Seattle... You had better send me a check for that twenty five dollars.
