I woke up this morning bright and early around 8o'clock... ok, maybe not soo bright and early, but you gotta give me credit, I am on vacation right? Anyways, I woke up this morning and was out the door on a twenty minute ride to Montpelier, as Mike was nice enough to drop me off on his way to a meeting. After walking down main street, I decided on breakfast at a little coffee shop and had a lovely ham and cheese croissant. I meandered through some of the shops before making my way up to the capital building. It was about what you would expect from a capital building, but I got a pretty nice shot of it, so I'll share that with you guys.
After viewing the capital building I made my way up to Hubbard park, and spent most of my day there. It's a beautiful park at the top of a hill with a ton of trails to explore, and some nice views of the town on your way up the hill. It was great to just walk around for a while enjoying nature. They have a nice lookout tower with a great view of the surrounding area as well.

After a few hours exploring part of Hubbard Park, I walked down for a late lunch (good, but a little pricey..) and had an hour to kill before Carol was picking me up, so I spent some time looking through a used bookstore and found two treasures in the form of books by the author John Green that I've had my eye on for a while. I got the pair in great condition for just under ten bucks.
So that concluded my day in Montpelier. This evening Carol had a softball game, so I tagged along to join the cheering section, and we ended up winning by one! Wooo! She looked like she was having a blast, and the people on her team are really fun. All in all, a good day.
A very nice post, loved having pictures with it. Was the downtown area new, urban? or old, quaint victorian? I know you're just getting the hang of this blogging thing, but remember we weren't there with you, so we have to see through your "eyes" LYLDO, Dad
